WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Rentar Environmental Solutions, Inc., a US EPA Energy Star Partner, received another ringing endorsement this month in the aggregate industry publication Rock Products. Rogers Group Equipment Manager Cameron Druyor is quoted throughout the article on the benefits of the Rentar. On fuel consumption, he says the average savings are 7.5%. "I had an L330D Volvo wheel loader, which is already a pretty fuel-efficient machine, and I saw a 6% improvement," he says. The greatest reduction was 32% on a Caterpillar 980C wheel loader. "It's pretty easy to do the math. There's a 3309 Terex haul truck that went from 12.8 gallons per hour down to 10. There's 2.8 gallons (per hour) that you are not buying," Druyor added.
Druyor also states that he sees an improvement in the horsepower of the engines unlike other exhaust emission treatment technologies. "First and foremost, we are interested in the health of our employees. If we get a dollar savings, that's great. We're after trying to reduce our emissions as much as possible." He says there was a noticeable difference on the emissions when the catalyst was installed on a Cat D399 generator.
The Rogers Group had initial tried the Rentar on 18 pieces of equipment including haul trucks, wheel loaders and generators. Due to the success of those initial 18 Rentars the company is in the process of outfitting 50 additional engines.
